This will be an unforgettable day, an out-of-the-ordinary experience. You will enjoy using your Laguiole knife every day as it gradually acquires a patina through use.
During the workshop, you will craft your own Laguiole pocket knife from start to finish with the aid of an experienced professional knifemaker, who will be there to help you throughout the course.
Anyone who knows a bit about DIY and is fairly good with their hands: either a beginner or an improver wanting to learn more skills (bring your camera so you remember afterwards). Where minor children are concerned, the minimum age is 15 and they must be accompanied by an adult (and have written consent from both parents).
Make sure you wear suitable clothing for a workshop (smock, apron or overalls; avoid wearing shorts and open shoes). You won’t get dirty. Just a little dusty.
Bookings can be made for an individual or several people. If necessary, we will fill up the course with other participants. The course is full once four people have signed up.
Hours from 8.30 a.m. to 12 midday and from 2 p.m. to 5/5.45 p.m.

This also serves as an invoice for the service we provide in assisting participants to make knives on our premises. Moreover, it is your responsibility to attend the course.
Reservations: contact Virginie (if she is absent, ask for Christophe or Honoré). Virginie manages the schedule and availability of knifemakers.
A reservation is good for one or more dates, once the check for your deposit has been received. If we are unable to fill the workshop with four participants on the specified dates, we will refund your deposit. The deposit will not be refunded if the workshop takes place and you do not attend.

The work is carried out on the models with a forged bee with the spring.
Chiseling of the bee and the spring is carried out by the workshop participant.
Choosing the handle length
Choosing the number of functions
Choosing the steel for the blade
Choosing the bolsters
Choosing the handle
Option to have the knifemaker engrave initials on the spring:
you will need to do far less chiseling on the spring yourself.
We do not offer courses for the models below:
- model with very complicated mechanisms: knives with three functions and two functions with awl
- considerable degree of difficulty: models with full handles and with just one bolster
- materials that are too expensive for a first attempt (mammoth, rare woods)
- we do not recommend Damascus steel blades as they are too expensive for a first knife.
