Damascus steel blade

We make the Damascus steel in our firm, in the Damascus steel forge. These Laguiole knives come with a forged bee, a hand-chiseled spring and a blade guard. They come with a leather pocket sheath (if you choose one of our other sheaths, we will deduct the value of the pocket sheath from the price for the other sheath). Damascus steel is the result of a forging technique that goes back more than 2000 years. Its exact origin remains unknown. Archaeological excavations in northern France have uncovered bladed weapons made of "soft" and "hard" metals welded together (dating: Merovingians and Carolingians). For Westerners, Damascus steel seems to have been used since the first Crusades (in Syria, at D....!). Damascus steel has crossed the centuries, continents and eras. Prestigious swords, rifle and pistol barrels, ... these art objects and collectors' items have forged its reputation. There are different methods for making Damascus steel. Our blacksmith makes Damascus steel in our workshop in Laguiole.
