We ask groups of at least 10 people to make a reservation.

Our friends the dogs (cats, ...) are welcome in our cutlery. Please bring a leash.

Thank you for your interest in the traditional craftsmanship of our Laguiole knives (Knifemakers & Forge in Laguiole).

Our three different tours offer you the chance all year round to learn about our traditional professions and to share the passion for Laguiole knives.

Free visits

The main tour: free visits of the knifemakers’ workshop

About 40 minutes

We welcome you all year round. Free visits from Monday to Saturday. Departure times: 11am - 2.30pm - 3.45pm - 5pm.
Sundays and public holidays, consult us.

No reservation is necessary. Please arrive about 10 minutes before the tour begins. 

The program :
For the first part of the visit, you will settle in our amphitheatre. A professional will give a presentation on the Laguiole knife: its history and legends, its evolution, why real and fake Laguiole knives, how to sharpen a knife, ...

Then, in the second part of the tour, you will visit the Knifemaker's workshop.

One of our knifemakers will demonstrate the shaping of the handle of a Laguiole and you can, if you wish, leave with it!  

With more than 6 adults, the visit is guided for both parts.

With less than 6 adults, the first part is in video form and the second part is guided in the cutlers' workshop.

Visit in French language.

Possibility to follow the tour in English  and German  with the loan of a written guide.

Take advantage of the visit to have your knife sharpened or engraved (conditions and prices in store). 

The technical visit: discover the blacksmiths' workshop

About 15 minutes

Discover how the blades, springs and bolsters are made … All year round, Monday to Friday: free, didactic visit.

Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00 (Friday 17:10).

Our historical visit: The Museum of the Laguiole knife

About 20 minutes

Come and admire our heritage of forged objects, in particular the finest collection of old Laguiole knives.

On certain afternoons you will have a chance to wonder at the Damascus steel forge (layered steel). 

From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

A group consists of at least 10 people.

We ask groups to make a reservation (we are open 7 days a week).

Parking for coaches, cars and motorbikes available.

Language of the visit : French. English speaking  on-demand.
