This arrived exactly as the photos show. The parts are nicely made, with the blade polished but everything else in raw state. There are some brief assembly instructions but having some experience in wood and metal working is still required. It’s an excellent product for someone that likes a good challenge.

Good value for money; any moderately experienced hobbyist will not have any problems.

Really great idea. I made one of these for my son . He treasures it (nb hes 23 year old graphics student at Manchester.) Just bought this one for myself. It was a great challenge working out how to do things. I managed with a small household toolkit a rasp file a small fine metal file and som Emery paper. I'm used to sharpening knives so that was fine.

The quality of the wood is getting worse and worse (cheap wood), my first kits still had olive wood! At the moment the kit comes with woods that I don't want to use (a pity)! The engraving, on the other hand, looks very classy! Thank you, best regards Robert Schmid (Translated review)
